The A. P. Leventis Ornithological Research Institute (APLORI) was founded on June 18th 2001 following a generous contribution by Mr A. P. Leventis. The Institute continues to grow both scientifically and in its educational programme and now employs close to 20 staff.
In its research and education program, APLORI cooperates with numerous national and international partners. To read more about partners follow the link to the left.
APLORI has excellent facilities both for teaching and for scientific fieldwork. The site comprises a main building (containing lecture rooms, laboratories, a reception and a fully equipped library) an office building, and two modern houses (which provide accommodation for guests and visiting scientists). Pictures showing the location of the institute and its facilities are found in the menu to the left.
APLORI has a diary where bird observations are noted. This diary can be accessed in the menu bar. Please note that the diary is not updated daily; data primarily accumulate during intense field periods, and the diary will be updated at the end of each such event. So be patient, and check this link, or the news page, regularly to see whether new days have been posted.
